  2. 03The run sheet

Describe it. Leave it. Collect it.

A topic and a level go in. Script, narration, animation, checks and encode all run on the render farm, and the finished film arrives by email.

    Run sheet03 steps
    1. Step 01: Describe it≈ 30 s of typing

A topic and who it is for. You never describe the visuals; the theme owns those.

    2. Step 02: Leave itunattended · emailed

Scripted, narrated, animated, checked against nine gates, rendered. Close the tab; we email you.

    3. Step 03: Collect itMP4 · SRT · chapters

If the render fails your minutes come back. You are never billed for a video you did not get.

  3. 04Delivery

    What lands in your inbox.

01The output

A frame, dimensioned.

Drawn live from DATUM.'s own tokens: the same palette, type and stroke weights the renderer paints with.

  • 01Every frame drawn for your topic
  • 02Chapters and a share link
  • 03Nine gates before delivery
  • 04Failed renders refunded

Examples

Two films, each from one sentence.

A topic and an audience went in. Nothing was animated or narrated by hand. Press play and judge the output itself.

The run sheet

Nine stages. Nine gates. One standard.

A topic goes in; a finished film comes out. Here is every stage it passes through, and the checks that stop a bad frame before you ever see it.

the full run · nothing hidden

  1. 00Queued

Jobs start in the order they arrive, and your place in the line is always visible.

  2. 01Claimed

A renderer picks up the job and starts work.

  3. 02Scripting

The narration and the scene code are written for the topic and the level it is aimed at.

  4. 03Voicing

For a narrated film, the voice is synthesised. A gate checks every word will be pronounced correctly before a second of audio is made.

  5. 04Animating

Every scene is built and rendered once for review before the final pass.

  6. 05Checking

Nine automated gates: caption safe areas, contrast floors, narration sync, chapter boundaries. A cut that fails one stops there instead of shipping.

  7. 06Rendering

The final encode at the resolution you chose: 720p, 1080p or 4K.

  8. 07Packaging

Chapter marks placed, captions burnt in if you asked for them, a share link minted.

  9. 08Done

Emailed to you. Watch it, download it, send the link.

If a render fails

Your minutes come back automatically, from the same ledger that charged them: before you have to ask. You are never billed for a video you did not get.

The script

Every film starts as a script.

The narration, its timings and the chapter map for the whole arc are written first: pitched to the topic and the level it is aimed at. The renderer only paints what the script already decided.

The playground is free and unlimited, and a free account gets one free short video a month.

Changes apply to new videos; existing videos keep the look they were made with.

Pricing

Up to a set number of minutes a month. Every video uses a few.

Each video uses the length of its band — up to 3, 5 or 10 minutes — so your plan's minutes are the most video you can make, in any mix. You pick short, medium or long; the agent picks the exact length inside the band. Nothing is charged until you press render, and a failed render is refunded by the same ledger that charged it.

Before you start

The questions the page has not answered yet.

plain answers · no asterisks

Do I need animation or editing skills?

None. You type a topic and say who it is for; the theme owns colour, type, motion and voice. The film comes out finished.

What happens if a render fails?

Your minutes come back automatically, from the same ledger that charged them, and the reason is written down in plain language. You are never billed for a video you did not get.

Can I edit the video afterwards?

Not yet: the editor is coming soon. To change a finished film, you order a new film that builds on it, at the full price for its length.

What do I actually receive?

An MP4 (H.264) with chapter marks and a share link. It is silent unless you ask for a voice; narrated films can add burnt-in captions and an SRT subtitle track. Watch it, download it, send the link.

How do minutes work?

A plan gives up to a set number of minutes of video a month. You pick short, medium or long; the agent picks the exact length inside the band. Each video uses the length of its band — up to 3, 5 or 10 minutes — so your plan's minutes are the most video you can make, in any mix. Starter: up to 45 minutes of video a month — up to 15 short or 9 medium videos. Creator: up to 120 minutes of video a month — up to 40 short, 24 medium or 12 long videos. Studio: up to 200 minutes of video a month — up to 66 short, 40 medium or 20 long videos. Plan minutes refresh each month and expire with the period. Need more? Add minutes to your plan — 20, 60 or 120 minutes, never expire. Top-ups are for subscribers and are used under your plan's limits.

Is there a free video?

Yes: 1 free video a month, up to 3 minutes, 720p, on a free account once your email is confirmed. Free videos wait behind paid ones in the queue, and a limited number are made each day.

Can I use my own look?

Yes. The playground is free: duplicate any of the 7 packs and dial the palette, type, stroke weights, background, voice and pace. Your own wordmark on the film is the one thing that waits for the Creator plan.
